The 48-Hour Cinema Showdown is a creative race for Ball State students of any year or major. Winning teams will receive prizes!
At the kickoff event, your team will be assigned a random genre, prop, and line of dialogue that your film must be based around. Then, the race is on! You will have 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and turn in your film to be judged by a panel against your fellow contestants. Films can only be 2-5 minutes.
Here’s a brief overview of the when and where:
KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU WILL NEED A MEDIA MAJOR ON YOUR TEAM TO HAVE ACCESS TO EQUIPMENT FROM UNIVERSITY MEDIA SERVICES. ALSO, UMS EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT CLOSES AT 4:00PM ON FRIDAYS, SO YOU WILL NEED TO CHECK OUT YOUR EQUIPMENT BEFORE THE KICKOFF EVENT IF YOU WANT TO USE EQUIPMENT FROM UMS.
